The trainings you decided to ban today tell a true and accurate story of American history. A history that either you don't know, or are trying to suppress.

Either way, we're concerned about the version of American history you appear to believe. So we'd like to clarify a few things:

Remember when you honored the last two surviving Native American Code Talkers from WWII in front of a picture of Andrew Jackson?

That's the same Andrew Jackson who signed the Indian Removal Act of 1830 and participated in the slaughter of Native Americans.

Remember when you claimed Jackson would have prevented the civil war?

That's the same guy who offered a $50 reward for the return of a runaway enslaved person along with "10 dollars extra for every hundred lashes any person will give him, to the amount of 300."

A false narrative about the role racism has played in the history of America is incredibly dangerous to our nation's health — and progress.
