I really like the casino battle royale* format. Feels like a streamlined royal rumble. Instead of having all the guys come out one by one, each guy has drawn a card and then during the match, a suit is called and all the guys who drew it enter.
But then the cool part is there’s a joker… last casino battle royale was for the women and Mercedes Martinez was the surprise joker.

This is too much pre-show. There was a 30 minute red carpet livestream at 5 eastern, then an hour “countdown to” on TNT at 5:30, THEN A SECOND 30 min red carpet livestream. Now an hourlong pre-show… #AEWAllOut

And the pre-show is all the same video packages I’ve been watching for 2 hours and 20 minutes.
Pre-show was supposed to have the casino battle royale AND a “cinematic” (the product of wrasslin during covid) women’s match, but again… that was rightfully bumped to the main show.

Sooooooo now the pre-show feels painfully long and repetitive. BUT! There is zero reason to give away Dr. Britt Baker, DMD’s (shes a real dentist, y’all. Like… REAL real) first match back from a 3 month injury for free… she’s remade herself during the injury time
PLUS!!! We’ve been building to her vs Big Swole since the last arena show with fans back in March. Why the fuck do you have their first match of the feud on free TV? Especially as a company that supposedly is gonna feature women’s wrestling? #AEWAllOut
