After Trumpism gets beat like a drum, the first thing Republicans have to do (if we have any prayer of winning again) is to rid ourselves of him & his lackeys. Admitting that it was all a terrible error & that Trump was an awful leader should become a rite of passage for every R.

The second thing Rs have to do is reacquaint themselves with facts, truth, and integrity. In order to ever win a national majority in the 21st century, you can’t just wish away reality or pretend it doesn’t exist. Enough of America saw this happen & the GOP lost their trust.

The third thing Rs have to do is rediscover a governing agenda that isn’t rooted in fear. Fear of what will happen if you elect Ds! Fear of “invasions”! Fear of protests!

That’s not a vision for the country. It’s just aiming to be the least bad option. It’s a loser.

For most Republicans currently holding elected office in Washington, the first step of disowning Trump will be asking far too much. They all need to be primaried and sent packing.

But for the few who are able to disown Trump, the second and third steps are no less critical.
