Hi all, I’m in the hospital again for blood clots. A bunch got into my lungs but my echocardiogram was great, so my body is handling it.
This is important, though. I know a lot of you are basically sedentary during COVID
This can put you at risk for a blood clot. The most common is obviously the legs to start, but these clots can break off
Don’t ignore warning signs. You’ll end up with busted lungs or a bad heart or _worse_.
Don’t panic, though. Be calm. Because you need to recognize a host of symptoms that are possible
For me, warmth in legs led me to the ER. Since my vitals are great, bar hospital anxiety, they checked just my legs
They found a long kind of clumpy tract in my legs so they put me on eliquis
Two days after initial release i started feeling dread. It’s fight or flight on overdrive
If it’s the only major symptom you get it can feel like a heart attack only you know about. Either way, go to the hospital!
And if you are in for deep vein thrombosis ask for a CT angiography to be sure
If you’re breathing well, conscious, then they are going to go for the clot factory (my legs in this case) and pump you full of heparin or similar
Maybe a filter gets dropped in your arteries to keep the clots back as they break down
Either way, more panic and terror!
But try not to worry, keep your heart peaceful
Anyway, I’m in here for one more day or 2-3 more. It depends.
And yeah I’m freaked out, but my BP is 128/70, my SpO2 is 98%, so I’m only hurting myself by worrying so much
Hahahahaha this sucks.
But I’ll be ok
