TW: violence / with the respect the vets hashtag i& #39;m reminded of the time i was at work and a veteran told me his most prized possession was a box of body parts he cut off of korean people he killed during the war.
i& #39;m reminded of the letter sent to korean war veteran families from the US government calling my family& #39;s culture, language, and traditions a disease to be eradicated (literally "koreanitis").
i& #39;m reminded that this letter advised families to keep veterans away from any young women in the house, just for a little bit, while they "adjusted back to civilian life."
i& #39;m reminded that in certain parts of korea, the ground is so full of bodies murdered by pro-US soldiers that the landscape glows with the phosphorous from their bones. i do not respect your fcking war criminals
