🌟What does this mean? 🌟

Aka how to read/understand 📻 charts

A thread in 7 parts
1. Radio is a part of the Hot100 calculation.

Along w/ sales and streams, radio is used to calculate the main USA singles chart, the Hot100.
2. Radio's Tracking week is Monday-Sunday ET

Sales/Streams are Friday-Thursday.

So while week 1 sales/streams tracking for Dynamite started 21 Aug (Fri), week 1 radio tracking started 24 Aug (Mon).

3. Radio charts aka "Airplay Charts" are split by format, w/ an Overall Airplay chart to rule them all.

Formats include Top 40(pop), Adult Contemporary (AC), Urban, Rythmic, etc.

Format type can drive which stations play a song & can be controversial (ex: what is/isn't pop)
4. Radio is a rolling chart of the past 7 days.

Any +/- is baised on the prevous day's chart, and not the # of spins on a given day.

Ex: +119 means 119 more than yesterday's update over a course of 7 days.

NOT a totally of only 119 spins in 1 day.
5. "Last Week" used in radio charts reference spins/ranking on the same day the previous week.
6. Hot 100 uses Audiance size, while some of the format Airplay Charts (like Pop) use # of spins.

It's why we push MRL/ AT40, etc. They are aired on multiple stations, so each spin gets a wider audiance
7. Remember that radio pushes are weird and *can* speed up/slow down due to multiple reasons.

So don't stress, enjoy the music, and have fun! //END
