Amons radio broadcasts also remind of anonymous broadcasts. Except used for evil. Idk if thats Communism but i thought it was worth mentioning

Unalok spends his arc using the spirits to gain power. He believes hes so spiritually charged that he should rule using that power.

When Korra opens the southern spirtual gate and Unalaq sends in troops to guard afterwards felt very Catholic missionaries like.
Unalaq tells Korra by opening the gate (and him using Vaatu)

Zaheer and Anarchy
A free thinker that believes there is no limit to what humans can do. Laws and Rulers only hold you back and Zaheer wishes to relieve the world of these pressures. (Shown beautifully through the earth queens actions). He deserves to be the one who can fly.

There really isnt much else to say he believes getting rid of all world leaders will bring the world to chaos which will restore balance. Or in other words. Natural selection will take its place and restore order. A true anarchist at heart

Because of Zaheers actions the Kingdom needs a new government. Kuvira provides citizens a false sense of security and protection while she bullies and crushes people to get power.

She forces Varrick to build the Avatar equivalent of a nuke. And blows up Republic city.

Varrick just cares about profit. Season 2 he's just providing weapons to both sides. Buying companies, scamming the little guy (Asami)
I wouldn't say Varrick is a good guy until season 4 after he builds spirit nuke.

Because of Varrick Korras adversaries gets an upper hand. But also Varrick helps team Avatar at the end of the day as well.
