BTS ≠ Flops | BTS = Underrated

or how bangtan have been breaking records, outselling the industry’s biggest companies and gathering large audiences since their debut ~ a thread 😌

@BTS_twt
So you probably already know how BTS debuted.

I would like to mention though that their debut stage was possible bc a last minute slot had opened on M Countdown. It’s important to know that this broadcasting channel is EXTREMELY influential.
To debut on it will certainly boost your image to the general public.

@BTS_twt
It was only in 2017 that they talked about how their debut was possible because someone’s spot had opened.

Lets fast forward a little bit. BTS have debuted for a year now and they’re invited to perform at the 2014 USA KCON.

People were WAITING for BTS. They were probably the most anticipated act of the convention. American ARMYS have always shown up for BTS.
And I mean look at THIS!!! Only one year into their career and they were already such amazing performers.
Now this one is a big one. If you know a little bit of BTS’ story and their HYYH comeback you know that they were constantly being accused of manipulating their numbers. https://twitter.com/hopefulmyg/status/1060311377892515840?s=21
This was just not possible. BH was still a relatively small company that simply couldn’t afford to bulk buy BTS’ music. But the demand for BTS was there. Their talent spoke for itself & that’s how, in 2015, with just ONE group, BH managed to outsell the BIG3.
HYYH was a very successful comeback charts-wise. It gave them their win on a music show but it also started their ascension on Billboard (not their first entries: they charted with Skool Luv Affair on the Billboard World Albums and Japan's Oricon Albums Chart).
BTS continued to put out music and to push themselves. They’ve never flopped. The industry was against them. They made numbers that rookies at that time were just not making. Just look at these numbers.
And it just keep getting bigger and better

In conclusion, @BTS_twt have always been a force to reckon with. They went through some shit bc all the odds was stacked up against them. The industry didn’t want to help them. The whole kpop community rejected them. But they have ALWAYS broken records & barriers.
Its impossible to compile all the times they’ve shown how unbeatable they are from early on. This is just a tiny glimpse of what they’ve accomplished but I hope next time someone tries to discredit them or attributes their success to luck or to “help from kpop” you’ll know better
Moreover, if you want more of a backstory of how they got to where they and why ARMYS defend them so fiercely, I can provide you with this thread I wrote a while ago. I keep updating it every time a new milestone is achieved bc I will ALWAYS celebrate their hard work & success. https://twitter.com/hopefulmyg/status/1060308163348647936
