During this drill kids just return to their classrooms, teachers lock their doors, and continue school in their locked classroom until advise otherwise.

During this fifth grader heard over the intercom that we are in lockout and to proceed with procedures . He immediately heard a clown in the room say, “they heard someone is in the school” and this fifth grader went mental!!!

I had to remove him and take him to my office where I spent the entire drill calming and reassuring him that I promise I will keep him safe no matter what. These drills do more harm to the kids but they do help the teachers and admin.
