Black models making waves in the fashion industry today, but are somehow still underrated: a thread
Disclaimer: these are the models that I look up to and that I think are turning the industry on its feet! Not every black model ever will be posted :)
Caren Jepkemei. A Kenyan beauty whom I can't stop stanning! She has walked and been in campaigns for brands such as Viktor and Rolf, Burberry, Balmain and Vivienne Westwood.
Imari Karanja. A major runway model with a doll-like face. She has walked and appeared in campaigns for hf brands such as Tom Ford, Valentino, Dior and many more! She's also appeared in British Vogue.
Elibeidy Martinez. One of my favourite runway models, from Puerto Rico! She has walked for hf giants such as Helmut Lang, Lanvin, Pyer Moss, Jacquemus and Gucci (and more). She's also appeared in many several Vogue magazine spreads.
Assa Baradji. Already a runway veteran, she has walked and been the face for an enormous amount of brands such as Givenchy, Fendi, Valentino and so many more! She has also scored her first Vogue cover (Vogue Italia!)
Adut Akech. She was already scouted by the age of 14! One of the faces of the moment, she has walked (and been the face) for brands such as Versace, Dior, Chanel and so many more, has numerous Vogue covers and was named model of the year in 2018!
Eniola Abioro. A Nigerian top model, whom I am obsessed with! She is one of the faces for Revlon and has walked for major high fashion brands such as Helmut Lang, Dolce & Gabbana and Brandon Maxwell.
Anok Yai. THEE face of the moment. A single photo at a college homecoming changed her life and she soon became the second black model to open for Prada since 1998. Since then she has had numerous Vogue covers and has walked for major brands such as Versace, YSL and many more!
Agi Akur. One of the most angelic faces of the moment. In a short time span she as walked for major high fashion brands such as Chloé, Alexander McQueen, Valentino and many more! Watch out for her!
