I don’t think ppl realise the pain it brings russian & ex-soviet jews when we see communist glorification, and the denial of our ethnic cleansing on this site.

My family have been out of the Soviet Union for generations, and were one of the few that escaped early on, we still feel the mark. We still have the trauma.

the most painful thing for me on this site is to see the utter destruction of jewish culture in the USSR denied.

because it isn’t taken seriously.

the glorification of the USSR, the denial of our ethnic cleansing and cultural genocide, isn’t often met with outrage, or eduction - it’s met with laughter and mocking.

this isn’t something to mock. it’s serious and it’s damaging.

this is fresh trauma. there are people on this site born in the former USSR who have endured cultural genocide, ethnic cleansing, mass forced assimilation, they endured a world where being *religiously* jewish was met with exile or even death.

think about that
