Reading 1984 in 2020 was a mistake... I'd never read it before, I'd always heard it referenced, so I wanted to give it a go. And oh my god, we so live in a modern Hellscape like that world, with it's own capitalist twist on things. We've invited the Telescreens in.

This has got me thinking a lot about thought policing... Your thoughts are not your actions. Just because you THINK something, doesn't mean you'll DO something. I think that's why the whole FLO situation has bothered me so much even though I have no skin in the game.

They're actively saying that "If you even think this, we know you're a pervert, and you must adhere to our own rigid defined view of what's wrong and right about imaginary situations." But it's hard to argue against, because in the same stroke that thought might turn around and

say that the same things applies to Fascists or actual abusers. Fascists and people who hurt other living beings, human and animal, have no right to be in the fandom. Fash especially, because their ultimate goal is to cause pain to others in the real world too.

You must he intolerant of intolerance. You must not let them worm their way into communities, because then their power grows.

But, art and sex is Inherently Anti-fascism. A fascist can make art, but that's something that goes against them. Art is about expressing, fantasy,

And wonder. It's at it's core a force for good.

Human brains are... weird. We're almost designed to think "Can I put x in me? Or could I put x in it?"

Historical example: See any time Zeus had sex.

But that doesn't inherently make us evil or abusive. That is just our minds

wondering. We're geared to fantasize, it's what we do. It's when those thoughts have physical real world actions attached to them that we must act swift and decisively.

The same goes for if someone is saying we should be allowed to do "x" in the real world if it causes harm

to someone or some thing. That must be squashed.

But, if someone wants to draw their dragon fucking a horse who is really into it? Who should give a fuck?
