Have any of these people who praise the ban of critical race theory studied CRT? Read a paper that uses it as a framework? Read its 5 tenets? While it’s clearly racist to want to ban CRT, it’s also a timely campaign strategy aimed at the rural & working class voters.

CRT is only divisive against hegemonic powers. It seeks to expose and dismantle racism. To seek to ban CRT is a political strategy to keep power & to send a message to rural & working class constituents that you are “standing up” to “leftist academic elite.”

The Republican Party has become a platform that stands proudly on anti-intellectualism. I’m not saying all Republicans are anti-intellectual—but as a party, a clear strategy has evolved to “unite” people against the “academic leftist elite.” It’s a branding political move.

And I get it. There are leftist elites who don’t listen or understand rural & working class families & communities. There is a huge divide. Wanting to ban CRT is driving that point home, purposely creating a greater chasm & using racial inequality as a political propaganda tool.

CRT is being branded as anti-American because right now it is anti-Republican. CRT is a research framework used to examine various sociocultural behaviors, interactions, ideas & systems. It’s laughable to declare social war against a theory. It’s clearly a strategic campaign move

that seeks to, once again as we saw in 2016, stand up to the leftist elite in a phony attempt to be “for” the working people. I’m not saying leftist elite don’t exist. They absolutely do.

I’m saying CRT is not elite and Tru”mp is not pro-working class.

He is not for the working class. He is not for the soldiers. He is not for rural communities. He is for business and power & systems that keep his power. His platform is racist. It’s also anti-educational. Anti-academic. He’s using CRT to foster false consciousness among voters.

I was raised in the rural Midwest. I love the rural Midwest & live here raising my family. I was raised evangelical. Republican. I went to Bible college. I’m White. My husband is a combat veteran.
I’ve seen this anti-education strategy used my whole life, but never like now.

Tru”mp & his platform do not speak for me. They cannot use me or assume because I’m rural that I will buy their anti-intellectual propaganda. Universities are not our enemy. Research is not our enemy.

We benefit from CRT as a framework to interrogate our systems & ways of life.

Don’t let pundits or politicians speak for you. Read CRT. Read Bell, Delgado, Stefancic. Williams. Crenshaw. Collins. hooks. Ladson-Billings. Matsuda. Search for texts using CRT & intersectionality as frameworks.

We need to be critical thinkers. Don’t let anyone think for you.
