Been figuring out how to put this
When a person comes out as a certain sexuality or gender identity and the reply is "I still love you". I have a serious problem with the use of "still" cause it seems like you're saying 'Despite' who you are, I love you anyway. Basically...1/5
calling who you are wrong or a negative. Sexuality is never a negative thing nor is it detrimental.
It's similar with the reply "I don't care". First of all, there's nothing to care about. It's not like a defect that should have you concerned. You're simply being let in on... 2/5
who I am.
I know these are just words & the person's heart could be in the right place & I could be over thinking but to me, words matter a lot.
When a person comes out to you & you probably don't know what to say in other to make them feel okay or avoid an awkward situation. 3/5
I suggest

"Thank you for telling me"

If it's a loved one

"I love you"

Even something as basic as "Okay" with a warm welcoming smile would suffice. 4/5
Coming out is a very difficult thing to do especially on this side of world so show love and warmth as much as you can if you're ever in such a position.

Put this thread in the best way I could . 5/5
