the demented argument that the police will keep you safe is even more nonsensical in a nation where we have all seen many, many instances in recent months of police refusing to enforce laws or being told to stand down

"A super-majority of Americans support common sense gun laws" is not an argument for gun laws, which are illegal. It is an argument for gun purchases.
