Been thinking about why they going after critical race theory as indoctrination.

I think they hate that CRT (& other theories) are NOT indoctrination, but approaches for thinking.

They prefer a "teacher proof" pedagogy that "teaches" set facts & discourages actual thought.
CRT (like critical theory, queer theory, feminist thought) is not like the SAT, ACT or Common Core.

It teaches students to *think*.

I often tell students "You do NOT have to come to the same conclusion as me, but you do have to convince me you& #39;re being critically rigorous."
What people conclude with CRT is quite broad. Even in the big red book, Derrick Bell, Cheryl Harris, Crenshaw, Thomas, they& #39;re looking at lots of different things & staking out unique claims & lines of inquiry. But they& #39;re analyzing power in the law w a framework.
I think they don& #39;t like when we teach students a framework & then send them on their way to discover, perhaps, that the status quo is unjust.

They don& #39;t want education; they want to frighten students & educators into repetition, obedience & reproducing the social code as is.
