Been thinking about why they going after critical race theory as indoctrination.

I think they hate that CRT (& other theories) are NOT indoctrination, but approaches for thinking.

They prefer a "teacher proof" pedagogy that "teaches" set facts & discourages actual thought.
CRT (like critical theory, queer theory, feminist thought) is not like the SAT, ACT or Common Core.

It teaches students to *think*.

I often tell students "You do NOT have to come to the same conclusion as me, but you do have to convince me you're being critically rigorous."
What people conclude with CRT is quite broad. Even in the big red book, Derrick Bell, Cheryl Harris, Crenshaw, Thomas, they're looking at lots of different things & staking out unique claims & lines of inquiry. But they're analyzing power in the law w a framework.
I think they don't like when we teach students a framework & then send them on their way to discover, perhaps, that the status quo is unjust.

They don't want education; they want to frighten students & educators into repetition, obedience & reproducing the social code as is.
