4/n Let’s start the cine songs with this legendary composition by S. M. Subbiah Naidu sung magnificently by Janaki Amma, catapulting her to fame! (Sorry, this is the best audio I could find)
5/n Chinnanchiru Vayadhil, from Meendum Kokila by Ilayaraja in the voices of Yesudas and S.P.Sailaja (a voice I wish we had gotten to hear more!). Do watch out for an interesting interlude!
6/n A classic often credited to Ilayaraja (joining @jaggenius in cribbing), but actually composed by Gangai Amaran. Neela Vaana Odayil in SPB’s magical voice, proving that a few seconds of him humming are enough to melt you :)
7/n Going truly retro, this is a melody par excellence. MSV, TMS, and Susheela Amma come together to make you shed a tear or two. Wonder if 2k kids remember this song as the Jigardhanda intro # :)
8/n Back to Raja sir, as he creates magic with SPB and Swarnalatha (did I already tell you how much I miss her voice!). Ennai Thottu Allikonda…

10/n One more retro classic, from Thiruvilayaadal, that has T. R. Mahalingam playing the role of Panapathirar & singing as well. What a legendary trio – Oru Naal Podhuma, Isai Tamizh Nee Seidha, and Paatum Naane – are! K V Mahadevan
