Would you rather be highly intelligent (say top 2%) with average social skills, or have outstanding social skills with average intelligence?
Why?
Why?
I think you would probably have a better life with the social skills. IQ doesn& #39;t do much for you in many of the fields most important for feeling happy or fulfilled (and may actually be a hindrance).
If you have amazing social skills and average intelligence you can pull in a very good income in sales or a similar person-oriented role, and you& #39;ll do well in office politics.
In your personal life you& #39;ll find it easier to approach potential partners (and not, to pick an example at random, annoy them by saying & #39;anyway, the really interesting thing about stable allocations in matching games& #39; while they& #39;re flirting)
Contrasting, I am not certain IQ alone will take you very far in many fields outside of academia (where participants are all famously happy and fulfilled) or *maybe* tech, but the returns really do concentrate there. It& #39;s a bit of a lottery.
Humans are a social species and I think being good at that is basically where the most utility is.
