/7 One of the goals I’ve set myself as part of learning how to be #UPFRONT is writing week notes every Saturday. And I’m shamelessly nabbing this #TweetNotes format from @SianAEMurray.
/7 Getting started is hard. Once you just Do The Thing, it becomes easier. I’m trying not to worry too much about it and treat it as an experiment. That’s what I tell my product teams to do, so how do I fail fast in finding my voice?
/7 What else have I been up to? Interacting with product stories, adding comments and asking questions. I’m struck by the similarity in problems people in product face. Always the debate about what framework can best help - some of that comes with study, some with experience.
/7 (And on that, I enjoyed this thread from @johncutlefish: https://twitter.com/johncutlefish/status/1300920145808818178)
/7 But our biggest challenge is all about the people. What inspires and motivates, how to work together, the balance between sharing enough and too much… I’d like to start talking to others testing out what really works on the human side of product.
/7 Other lessons learnt this week: I need to get outside more and I need to protect the things that make me happy. Like eating the best food and spending time with the people I care about *outside* of our flat. Local adventures are still adventures.
/7 And that, I think, will do me for this week. That wasn’t so hard. Let’s hope I can keep it up next week.
