Reminder that Romani people--gypsies--are an ethnicity, one that was nearly decimated during the Holocaust, and wearing a gypsy Halloween costume is in poor taste when there are living gypsies who might see it.

And in my case, make you /really/ uncomfortable about it.

I'm seeing the usual suspects popping up in Halloween decor and costumes, and I write letters, but my patience for this type of education wears thin.

(Gypsy is a privilege of my ethnicity--gadje shouldn't be using it. I'm mostly saying this so people stop telling me, a diddicoy, that I can't use my own vernacular. <3)
