I'm still playing with my replacement OLED display for the Equate pregnancy tester.
I was worried I wouldn't have enough bandwidth to do real time updates, but it turns out that 128x32 at 1bpp doesn't take much bandwidth at all.

people suggested it should show Bad Apple.

and it can't yet run doom. That's going to be way tricky, even cheating and having a modern desktop computer connected to it... but I CAN play back a doom video on it, which is kinda close?
(Using a different dithering method here so that you can see anything: doom is dark)

BTW, I'm just prototyping & playing around with this right now, but when it's more complete I'll do a how-to guide so you can build your own video-pregnancy-test.

and to clarify what I'm doing here:
This is a replacement display AND a replacement microcontroller. I'm not using any of the original tester other than the shell.

The existing CPU can't be reprogrammed and the existing LCD can only show 4 things, so I had to replace both to make any changes.
And the current version doesn't even fit into the shell!
(although I'm certain it will when complete)
