3 years ago I dropped rice, flour, sugar, bread, ground provisions, etc from my diet. I eat meat, fish, eggs, dairy, nuts, green veggies. Some months I drink alcohol, some I don& #39;t. I enjoy sugar free desserts 1x per week, sometimes I skip them altogether.
The first month was tough. Rice was my crack. But I told the people I live with what I was trying to do. One person joined me. The others were supportive. I cleared the house of foods that I wasn& #39;t going to be eating. I tucked away from sight what I couldn& #39;t clear out. I planned.
I think I lost no more than 5 lbs that first month. But my kid who also needed to lose weight was doing better & I knew we needed to keep going. Plus, my energy was increasing. I started feeling good again. So I kept going.
Over the years, I experimented with my food, coming up with delicious ways to indulge without eating food that made me fat. I gained control over my relationship with food via fasting. It became easier as I formed new habits & changed my body chemistry with my food choices.
This is the longest I& #39;ve ever kept weight off. I continue to push & pull different levers when it comes to my food choices. I eat REAL food. No processed shit for me. Really good food. I am in no way deprived.
