The latest story about Trump's comments regarding fallen soldiers demonstrate a shocking selfishness, disregard for life and a total lack of empathy or honor, which is—and I really want everybody to understand this—exactly what Trump voters like about him.

Anybody still voting for Trump has to be understood as the sort of person who likes what Trump is: a person so opposed to the idea of a shared social life that any sacrifice in service of a shared social life strikes him as contemptible.

They know what he is. They just like it.

The last 100 stories preceding this one have already proved that Trump is a rotted soul—a man who has cultivated his bad qualities so relentlessly he has no good ones left. And beyond the stories is the daily proof of the man himself.

There's nobody left to convince about Trump.

These stories are still important! It's just that we don't tell them for the sake of his supporters—who have to be seen as so morally empty. they'd experience the manifest daily reality of his toxicity, and embrace him *because* of it.
