Since August 2019, the #OIC’s liaison committee held three meetings to support the Kashmiri cause, two of which were at the level of foreign ministers, who issued strong statements supporting the #Kashmiri cause.
Another committee established by the OIC focuses on providing care to the families of Kashmir martyrs. This committee meets regularly in Jeddah, with the last meeting held on July 13, 2020, =

attended by Pakistan’s Consul General Khalid Majid and its permanent representative to the OIC, Razwan Sheikh as guests of honor. Also present at the meeting, as well as the committee members, were a number of distinguished representatives of other bodies.
During this latest meeting, Consul General Khalid Majid addressed the attendees, lauding the Kashmir committee in Jeddah as an effective body which has played an active role in highlighting and defending the Kashmir cause.
everybody should know that the #OIC is an independent international organization. Although it is headquartered in Jeddah, it is headed by figures from different Islamic counties on a rotational basis, and it has certainly performed its role in supporting the #Kashmiri people.
In December 2019 #Saudi Arabia proposed holding a conference bringing together speakers of Muslim parliaments to discuss the issue of #Jammu and #Kashmir.
This proposal was put forward by the head of the #Saudi Shura Council. Everybody is aware of the importance of this proposal, given the fact that these parliaments represent the people.
The proposal of bringing together speakers of parliaments supports the official steps undertaken and could pave the way for other supportive steps at the wider Islamic level. However, #Riyadh was surprised when this proposal was rejected by #Pakistan.  No explanations so far.
#Pakistan focuses on peacefully and justly resolving the Kashmiri people’s plight, reiterating their equitable rights, their aspirations and their right to self-determination in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions.
Pakistan has also consistently emphasized that no permanent stability and peace can be achieved in South Asia without finding a just and satisfying resolution to the Kashmiri cause, which satisfies all parties to the conflict.
Pakistan also reiterates its belief in the necessity of resolving differences via dialogue using peaceful means.
the Saudi and Pakistani vision & hopes on this issue are identical, with all the comments of the Saudi leadership and government supportive of the Pakistani position and demands which focus on a political and diplomatic solution and the implementation of UN resolutions on Kashmir
Saudi policies on all issues, including the Kashmiri cause, are based on political and diplomatic considerations. The formulation of policy has nothing to do with sentiments or emotions and populist appeals.
The Saudi leadership shuns any efforts to exploit Islamic and global causes to serve personal interests or specific ideological agendas. Instead,
Saudi’s leaders prioritize the interests of its friends and brothers, an approach which the Kingdom has followed for many decades, in which words and actions are always aligned.
