If you’re looking for a charity to support this #InternationalDayofCharity, we’d love you to consider becoming a #C3Friend.

When #coronavirus came and the world around us stopped, but we didn't.

Here's what we’ve been up to over the past few months.

(a thread)
But first, a bit about us.

Company Three exists because we want the world to better understand, listen to and celebrate teenagers.

We do this by giving young people a space to be themselves and make work that helps teenagers to express themselves to the world.
When the shutdown happened, we recognised that it was going to have a huge impact on teenagers. We wanted to create a project that offered teenagers social connection, support and a space to express themselves.

So we created the #CoronavirusTimeCapsule https://twitter.com/company_three/status/1261270120808288256
In partnership with @nickhernbooks we published a Blueprint + shared it freely so that any group anywhere could make their own Time Capsule.
We worked with amazing freelance artists inc. @nicolabarrie @SoniaJalaly @Kane_Husbands to produce fun, creative task videos.
And over 18 weeks, thousands of young people from hundreds of youth theatre groups across the world recorded their experiences and made their voices heard.

You can watch their videos here: https://www.coronavirustimecapsule.com  https://twitter.com/company_three/status/1284056259881246721
We hosted #C3Gathering twice, bringing together hundreds of young people from all over the world to share stories, hopes and dreams.

We were joined by our friend @JamWestman of #Hamilton & @TracyBrabin Shadow Minister for the Cultural Industries. https://twitter.com/JamWestman/status/1284164503098318848
Throughout lockdown our primary concern was always with the welfare and wellbeing of our core group of 75 young people. While we were making the time capsule we were also checking in with everyone, all the time.
We spoke to our members and their parents, often weekly, fundraised for laptops, ran socially distanced mentoring meetups, worked with teachers, organised games nights, sent flowers when they experienced bereavements.
We also wanted to support former members of Company Three, so we ran a series of artist development workshops, led by Kadisha Williams and @jamesblakey. https://twitter.com/company_three/status/1273698640041820165
The shutdown meant that our Making Theatre for Young People course couldn’t happen as planned, so we took to Zoom, sharing best practice with artists from the UK, all the way to Saudi Arabia. https://twitter.com/saffanaalireza/status/1281055327035817984
As the lockdown began to ease, we thought about how we could resume in-person activity in the safest possible way.

We worked hard to adapt to the new, socially-distanced normal, reworking much of our practice to ensure that it was covid-secure.
And over the summer, we ran 3 consecutive weeks of delivery @UnionChapelUK

It was safe, fun and most importantly, we were delighted to support more than 30 of our young people in the process💙 https://twitter.com/company_three/status/1294309319928930304
C3 Friends help to make all of our work possible.

Through monthly donations, C3 Friends play a vital role in helping to support our young people, share our practice with the world and pay our freelancers.

There's no minimum donation and we treat all of our friends equally ♥️
Whether it's the cost of a cuppa or the price of a ticket to your favourite production, we value every single donation.

If you’re unable to donate, we’d love for you to retweet this thread to help further share our vision with the world🌐
