apparently the UK government is cutting funding for supporting people with chronic pain, which will cut the access for many medications. if this goes through, my partner won't have access to the medications that currently keep his agonizing pain under control.
1 in 4 people in the UK suffer from chronic pain of some sort. without proper medication to help these people go through day-to-day life, their mental health will plummet, likely to serious levels. we need to talk about this.
many people are suggesting that anti-depressants should be given out to people with chronic pain, rather than prescribing strong painkillers, but that won't work for every case. for some people, being given anti-depressants for their chronic pain causes more harm than good.
