The seemingly stalled correction of the over-extended 'Supreme' Court is urgent on its own terms, but it was almost important as the symbolic restoration of the status quo ante in which courts respected the basic executive latitude required to act on things like this.

Nor are XR themselves short of people who know the detail of the law and the current temper of the courts. There may be a subtext to this that they are hoping for another policing response they take to judicial review in search of new erosion of police powers.
