tips/guide on making aus!
- by sammy<3

(a & #39;maybe not so helpful but could also help& #39; thread)
note:

please do remember that i am not a professional in writing, i am more likely a newbie since i just started writing aus and fics last november 2019.
apps (i use) for social media aus:

ios
- social dummy
(i don& #39;t use any ios device so i actually dk more)

android
- ugly bird (twt)
- twitterstylememo (twt)
- social prank (ig)
- funsta (ig)
- memeimessage (texts)
apps (i use) for fics/written aus:

[more like some additional apps]

- grammarly
• it really helped me with my grammar correction (since english isn& #39;t my first language)

- vocabulary builder
• this could help you widen your vocabulary
- google docs
• this is where i write my long oneshots/fics

- google notes
• this is where i type out my sudden ideas or prompts
q: how to start an au?

for me, once i got an au idea that i really liked and somehow plans to write it, i usually thinks first about the synopsis. after that, i would get a notebook or anything i could write to and write detailed plot. then once i settled with that +
plot, i would make a chaptered section of it and each chapter has a much more detailed things that would be only included in that chapter.

once i finished all them, that is when i start my au. i know lots of work but it really helped me to not sway away from my original plot.
q: how to get more au/fics ideas

i sometimes get ideas from songs, pictures, movies, clips i saw in the internet and even in books.

for example, i listen to some sad songs and then i would imagine it to some kind of story and then *poof* idea (why am i so bad at explaining) +
another one, from pictures, when i roam on pinterest, i see a lot of pictures and when i look at the photo of (example) taehyung in the forest then i imagine taehyung in some kind of forest then he met jeongguk blah blah blah blah.

reading a lot of books and fics also help +
you can get inspiration from it just like from songs, you think of it as a new whole story with a big twist so it would be different from the story you got inspired from.

remember that stealing ideas and stories are part of plagiarism so please refrain from making au/fics +
that are almost similar to each other, you can get inspired of it but do not copy the plot or anything.

additional! i sometimes also go to this site to get myself some inspiration for more ideas https://prompts.neocities.org/ ">https://prompts.neocities.org/">...
q: how/where to get motivations?

i mostly get motivations from readers, whenever they leave nice messages for my aus it makes me feel nice and sudden rush of motivation come to me whenever i think of people waiting and loving my aus.
q: what to do when you& #39;re out of motivation?

rest for a while and do some other things, for me i watch random videos (like bts/txt/kpop/anime) until i lighten my mood. i sometimes sleep to regain my energy. also eat! do not forget to eat since they make our braincells work lmao.
q: how to make aus good?

i myself is still conscious with my own writing since i make a lot of errors and i sometimes find my aus boring.

but so far i would say is practice. as time goes on, your writing would improve and improve. if you& #39;d check my old drabbles you can see a +
big difference in my writings, in style and even grammar.

also, learn new things, research and try new styles.
q: how to stop procrastinating?

i myself can& #39;t even but focusing on things you want to do first would work. finish things that are more priority than doing other works.

(i can& #39;t really answer this question cause i procrastinate a lot ngl but i try not to!!)
