Yesterday, the kids were playing with play dough as a part of their class activity. Miss Isobel instructed them to construct numbers and shapes before moving on to the next lesson.

The play dough was really sticky and the kids unable to create any shapes out of it because it sticks on the desk and their hands.
Thus, one of the girls in the classroom was complaining "THIS IS THE WORST PLAY DOUGH I'VE EVER PLAY WITH!
And all the GIRLS agreed to the statement.
Miss Isobel seemed really upset and she tried her best to fix the play dough.

I immediately ask the girls to line up and brought them to the wash room.
Before they went inside to wash their hands, I asked them to stay silent and look straight at me, because I have something really important to say.

With my strict voice, and a sharp glance, I asked the girls to think again about what they have said to Miss Isobel.
They seem clueless, so I reminded again about the incident. They might hurt Miss Isobel feelings when one of you said "this is the worst play dough" that Miss Isobel has prepared for all of you to play.
They looked down to the floor with the guilt in their face.
"Oh no! Miss Jasmin. I didn't mean to hurt Miss Isobel feelings :(" Evelyn said.
"Me too, Miss Jasmin"
The rest of the girls realized their mistake.

Then, one of the girl said something that shocked and make me proud at the same time.
"We are going to apologize to Miss Isobel after we're done with washing our hands" said one of the girls.

"I know I shouldn't have say like that. To be honest, that was the best school play dough ever
" said Everly.
âOkay, well done girls. I know you all have good manners and I am so proud of you girlsâ.

We all went back to the classroom.
"I'm sorry Miss Isobel!"
"
What are you sorry for?" Miss Isobel asked.
"I'm sorry Miss Isobel!"
"

"We would like to apologise about what we have said about your play dough just now
" said the girls
"
Aww thank you girls"

Moral of the story:
Being a teacher itâs not just about teaching ABCs, 123s, or how to read and count perfectly.
Being a teacher itâs not just about teaching ABCs, 123s, or how to read and count perfectly.
It is about how you develop their personalities and encourage them to be a better version of themselves.
In my opinion, they are kids and innocent. We as PARENTS and TEACHERS, are responsible to guide and teach them good manners. Remember, every each one of their acts is a reflect of us as an adult because theyâll slowly mould into us.
