I took my investigation to FEDERAL COLLEGE OF LAND RESOURCES TECHNOLOGY OWERRI. A place where corruption has bastardized education and learning. My findings are better imagined, than told. Part time lecturers are paid, as low as #5,000 to #7,500 per month.đź’”

@segalink 1/25
This school, is a degree awarding institution, under the Federal ministry of Agriculture & rural development @FmardNg, & directly under the supervision of the minister of Agriculture @NanonoSabo. But sadly, it is the citadel of corruption. Known or unknown to the minister.

2/25
A look into the illegal activities of the school shows that, 90% of it's HOD's are grossly unqualified to hold such positions. It is absurd to imagine HND holders, appointed HOD's above Msc holders. Grade level 7 lecturers appointed HOD's above grade level 8 or 9 lecturers.

3/25
Example is in agricultural engineering, the HOD/COORDINATOR is level 7, while you have masters degree, and more than level 8 holders there.

4/25
That is exactly what you will find at, the Federal College of Land Resources Technology Owerri. Who knows the provost, or who is loyal to the provost, gets the appointment. Without recourse to qualifications or competence. Majority of the lecturers are grossly unqualified.

5/25
The institution is so corrupt to the extent that, you will find academic staffs with the school, working in 2 or 3 places. Most lecturers are on state, & federal government payroll. For instance, the former registrar who just retired recently, was also a school principal.

6/25
A lecturer in Federal College of Land Resources Technology, is also with Imo poly and a staff with fecolart. I challenge the Federal ministry of Agriculture and rural development @FmardNg, and the honorable minister of Agriculture @NanonoSabo, to investigate my claims.

7/25
But the worst hit by the illegal activities of this institution, are the PART TIME LECTURERS, and the NONE ACADEMIC STAFF. Their case is quite pathetic, that leaves a sour taste in the mouth. THESE FELLOWS, HAS LOST ALL DIGNITY OF LABOUR 💔💔

8/25
These part time lecturers of federal college of land resources technology owerri, were contracted to lecture on part time bases, with a promise to regularise and upgrade their contract into full time lecturers of the institution, after a period of time.

9/25
But they have been kept for as much as 9,10 & 11 years, without regularising their employments. 60% percent of them are Msc holders. But the institution is having full-time lecturers, who are HND & Bsc holders. Many are even HOD's, all heading those part time lecturers.

10/25
The management of the school has done everything within it's powers, to frustrate those part time lecturers. Firstly they reduced their lecture hours, to only 7 hours per week, for each part time lecturer. They also pay them between #150 and #250 naira per lecture hour.

11/25
Some get as little as #5,000 naira a month, why others get #7,500 a month. But the irony of it all is, they only get this money per semester. Which means, payment for only 4 months, twice a year. There is no bonuses, or allowances. Even on overtime, or for practical.

12/25
If you do the maths, some part time lecturers of federal college of land resources technology owerri, earn between 20,000 and 30,000 per semester. AND THEY ARE PAID IN CASH. I challenge the honourable minister of Agriculture, @NanonoSabo to investigate my claims.

13/25
I call on fellow Nigerians, and the federal ministry of Agriculture @FmardNg, to immediately investigate this claim. That despite the meager salaries those part time lecturers earn. 2019 first semester payments is yet to be received. And they are already in 2020 semester.

14/25
When asked, most of those part time lecturers of federal college of land resources technology owerri, can actually walk away from the institution. Based on the treatment been meted out to them. But many will walk out to nothing. They have put in precious years of service.

15/25
Some spend as high as #800 naira on transportation, from their homes to the school. Just to lecture for one hour, at the cost of #150 naira. The Federal ministry of Agriculture, once gave a directive to the institution to regularise the employment of part time lecturers.

16/25
But the management of the School refused. Instead they employed their families, girlfriends, and children of their friends. The school is filled with ghosts workers and ghost names, alongside unqualified academicians. Selected and appointed by the school management.

17/25
The Federal ministry of Agriculture and rural development, didn't bother to confirm, if it's directives were implemented or not, by the management of Federal College of Land Resources Owerri, and those part time lecturers, can neither challenge the status quo.

18/25
They are daily threatened with sack, or termination of contracts. They are treated like trash cans, by the management of Federal College of Land Resources Technology.

All they do, is just to hope and pray. Why they await news of any directives from the Federal government.

19/25
None Academic staff of Federal College of Land Resources Technology, are not left out of this show of wickedness, and injustice by the management. Their salaries are deducted at will, and they are owed years of backlog of arrears. They have complained, to no avail.

20/25
For instance, security guards, cleaners and labourers under the employment of Federal College of Land Resources Technology, use to earn #20,000 naira monthly. But the money has been reduced to #10,000 naira flat rate. #10,000 was deducted from their salaries.

21/25
They have taken their complains to different quarters, yet no solution. They even took it to the permanent secretary, Federal ministry of Agriculture and rural development. But the issue wasn't resolved. up to this very moment, they are still owed backlog of payments.

22/25
Despite the huge allocation that comes to the school, ND one students must spend #58,000 naira, with compulsory school hostel payments. They arbitrary levy the students. The school fees is very high that they deny so many students opportunities to graduate or write exams.

23/25
But all those monies are wasted to corruption. They use frivolous projects to squander money in the school. Their budget is online with fake projects, and fictitious figures. heavily padded budgets and non existent projects.

24/25
I dare the honorable minister of Agriculture & rural development @NanonoSabo, to send a team of private auditors, to audit the accounts of Federal College of Land Resources Technology Owerri. They should conduct on the spot assessment of acclaimed projects, & actual cost.
