Confusion about streaming on genie. A thread:

1. Can intl stream on genie? No need to use VPN? How to download the app?

YES you CAN. Try finding a way to download the app. There's a lot tutorial on twitter and you can stream just fine without using vpn

2. Do we need to have korean number to verify genie account?

No need. You can even sign up using your extra twitter account. You can make multiple accounts and it will not ask your korean phone number like melon

3. Is FREE link help with charting?

We contacted genie. It only count to the person who bought the link. K-stay union, k-stay voting team also me had run 3 streaming test and all conclude it DOES NOT help with charting. Actual pass for streaming and download help with charting

4. But genie free link did help last year during God's Menu?

From statistic of last time streaming project, most of istays who are melon users moved to genie bc of the new policy. So we have double in the amount of streamers and streaming count. We also focus on download option+

Not to mention our fandom really grew, so it's mostly hardwork of people with actual streaming passes. We rise back to chart before midnight because most stays are online at that time while the free streaming link were released every hour the whole day

5. So we are not doing free streaming link this time?

We will still do it so stays who don't have genie account have chance to stream but it will not be a lot and not going to be our focus
