Ok so I’m posting a ss of this reply to my tweet which is in the first photo. This is going to be a short educational thread.

I tweeted this based off of observations of what I’ve seen on anitwt and also what I’ve experienced first hand on MY OWN tiktok. I used the model as an example because even you, a disagreeing party, agree with me that harassing someone to bleach their hair is out of line.

Many Asian people get unwanted comparisons to anime characters. They are people, not your walking fantasy. You don’t get to decide for them that it is a compliment.

The model I referenced is a MODEL. He is not a cosplayer, his goal is not to make his appearance look like Kenma. This also goes for volleyball players, they are athletic professionals, and the first thing you notice about them is what haikyuu character they look like?

From my own personal experience on tiktok I am OK with the comparisons because I occasionally cosplay -That is the difference -

To end this thread on a positive note, please appreciate cosplayers and stage actors because they bring the anime world to real life and they are creative and talented people <3
