the thing that irks me most about the whole dict//ionary dot com fili//pinx pin//xy thing is that the definitions make it seem like its applicable to /all/ filipinos, which it. isn't. it really isn't.
time and time again we've been telling people that 'filipino', the word and the language itself, is already gender-neutral. the general definition "relating to natives or inhabitants of the philippines" is just Wrong bc it's only the diaspora folks who want to push for it
having done some research on biracial identity for thesis i can sort of understand why some people would prefer to identify as such but please don't tell us to use it in the philippines for the sake of being "politically correct". it's not needed here
also did no one at dict//ionary dot com look at what filipinos had to say about it before publishing that definition?? maybe listen to and consult filipinos living in the philippines first?? we know more about our language and culture??
tl;dr i can sort of understand the use of fili//pinx or pin//xy in a diaspora setting but please keep it there. if you call me that/tell me i have to call myself that i will knife you
