Izel's VA also said this about her experience working on the show. The censored sentence reads "they threw a get well party for me a few days before I had surgery for cancer" I initially doubted this, but it turns out she did undergo cancer treatment

Now here's something interesting, according to anon Onyx Equinox was made on a tight budget with hectic management. This explains why some of the animation has highs and lows. However, they add that other aspects of the show make up for it.

The previous post stated that in the end the main hope is for OE to be a big hit and get a S2 with a bigger budget and new management. Storyboard Anon adds onto this, by saying that S2 will happen if Crunchyroll sees OE getting high ratings.

Other tidbits from the thread:

I'm gonna end it here. REMINDER TO TAKE THIS WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. Although there is some convincing stuff here it could be all fake.
