I always see movies long after the hype surrounding them has disappeared, and then there’s nowhere for me to go to share my hot takes. so, hello, twitter. going to start a thread here and revisit it as the need arises

little women had some lovely moments, but the timeline was bizarre. the fact that I was familiar with the novel almost felt like a disadvantage, it left me feeling even more confused. cast was all magnificent, though saoirse ronan didn’t seem to be reaching far from prev roles

the witch had beautiful cinematography. actors played their parts well. and the good ends there. the soundtrack was stale, the plot jumbled too many concepts and left too many basic questions unanswered. felt preemptively self congratulatory overall but didn’t even deserve to be.

that’s all I have but I think I’m going to watch uncut gems this weekend, will report back
