I actually cannot STAND the way women’s pain and medical issues are pathologised and minimised as if women just over exaggerate their symptoms.

Just witnessed a case in hospital that has made me RAGE. Going to sit here and decide how to respond calmly later on.

Just gotta get this out tho:

Peer reviewed research has repeatedly shown that when women present to emergency services, they are on average left 3 hours longer than men in the same pain presenting with the same symptoms

This was most recently confirmed again in UK 2018 study

I’m actually seething so I need to find a better outlet than twitter right now but I am absolutely disgusted by the way women are treated when clearly in serious pain and seriously ill. The patronising tones, the minimisation and outright lies.
