On Ed Markey's legislative record (thread). https://twitter.com/DanielaFinlay/status/1302085404615675904
2009: Markey introduced HR 3458, the Internet Freedom Preservation Act, which would have legislated net neutrality if passed.
May 2009: Co-sponsored the ACES Act, which would have established an emissions trading plan. However, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D) never brought it to the floor.
2010: Got BP to provide the live underwater video feed of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
2016, October: Requested the Obama administration halt work on the Dakota Access Pipeline.
2017, September: Cosponsored the Medicare for All Act introduced by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).
2017, November: Cosponsored the Military DV Reporting Enhancement Act, to create a charge of domestic violence under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
2019, February: Worked with AOC to author and promote the Green New Deal.
P.S. This thread isn't about whether Markey is succeeding, or whether he's trying hard enough. It's about whether he's trying at all when we're not looking at him, and on balance that seems to be the case.
