1/5 I'm perplexed and fed up by the @superdrug 'people who menstruate' debate going on. If you truly feel that this erases women and that not being mentioned in the product somehow invalidates your relationship to sed product
2/5
then WHY can you not stop for a second and see that that is exactly the feeling that many trans men, non binary and intersex people have when they have to buy a period product! Most period products don't even say women on the packaging anyway!
3/5
I am a feminist. I fight for my right as a woman to be viewed as an equal member of society and I rail against the historic as well as current discrimination and in-built misogyny that stops that from happening.
4/5
( I'm also very aware that being white and middle class, I haven't had to face as much of it as other women have, but that's a concurrent issue that's not directly applicable to what I'm saying here)
5/5 But my feminism and my right to be included gains absolutely NOTHING by the exclusion of others!
If there is a 'plot to erase the word woman' going on let's not pick THIS as the battle field! Because actually it's not just people who identy as female who use period products.
Bonus round!
Also, please try googling the difference between a trans man and a tran woman ... Some of these arguments are flawed from the off because some people don't seem to understand the distinction.
