Lacking any of its usual excuses @FERC stakes out the even more radical position that its improper for an RTO to design its tariff to even acknowledge, much less accommodate, state public policies. That is a striking break w/ precedent, practice & common sense. #FERCafterDark 2/4
. @FERC thinks it knows better than @NewYorkISO, its stakeholders, market monitor, @NYSDPS, & the people of New York. This order makes clear how little @FERC cares about stakeholder compromise or the consequences it will have for the running of an organized wholesale market. 3/4
New York is considering whether to “take back” resource adequacy from @NewYorkISO. The evident hostility toward state policies in this order will only add fuel to that fire.
