Recently someone chose substances (drugs and alcohol) over me (a human being), which was...well, words haven't been decided upon yet.

Soon after that (within 48 hours) I got a message from a friend about her recent (very serious and not funny) drug induced psychosis/schizophrenia diagnosis. She spoke of the experience like an entertaining trip.

Substance use isn't exclusive to the legal field and its effects have a wide reach.

I've had my own substance use issues (yeah, sorry, I'm not flawless) but this, THIS, was a wake up call.
