The Army gave my husband a huge network of amazing friends, a purpose, a skillset, a college degree, & a good living. It gave me, as his wife, a huge network of amazing friends, a purpose beyond any I had imagined, & a masters degree. We are not #suckers or #losers
Without the Army, I would not have known how incredible this country is, and I would not have not what is was like to risk everything for something you believe it. This life has been hard, but I’m richer for it.
I have lived, completely reliant, on people I never would have met without the Army. My closest friends are from different regions, they have different accents & cultures. How else would I get that? Where else would I learn this nation I love from the inside out?
Tell me another way a Latina from PR is going to be best friends with a belle from south Alabama & a cowgirl from Montana? That happens EVERY DAY with Army wives.
Tell me another way I would get told to move to somewhere I would NEVER move only to find the most amazing people.
And do it again & again. Tell me something I could do in civilian life that would equate to watching cable news to hear about what my own husband did that day. And I’ve done that not once, not a one-off, but for 17 years.
If you measure life in dollars I suppose the military...
...comes off lacking.

But if you measure life in dollars, fuck off, I don’t want to know you.
The typos are killing my OCD. Sorry. Please try to read through my fat-fingered mistakes.
Dude, why? We all heard what he said about John McCain, the Khans, & LaDavid Johnson’s widow. This is completely in character.
