Unpopular opinion: Mainstream medicine can& #39;t help you with #PCOS.
Mainstream healthcare is disease management care. It has been designed to treat symptoms, not the whole person.
#PCOS affects SEVERAL of the body& #39;s systems, which is why you& #39;ll run through several doctors and diagnoses before they put it together.
Folks are having all kinds of period problems and being told it& #39;s normal, but you can take this Rx. Also, lose weight. Deal with it.
The fact that mainstream doctors can& #39;t help with #PCOS is that they can& #39;t do anything for lean PCOS.
PCOS may be genetic but lifestyle plays a huge role. People with menstrual cycles have been running on a circadian rhythm that doesn& #39;t match with how their hormone cycles.
We don& #39;t learn about that because medicine, specifically gynecology, has never cared enough about people with uteruses to study it and educate others about it.
They don& #39;t even think it& #39;s important to have full and complete illustrations of female anatomy while they are teaching aspiring doctors how to slice into it. cc @MediClit
