Yes Brampton is seeing another uptick.

Yes I'm scared too to go back too.

But we don't need some of you being lowkey racist towards Brown and Black people in this community talking about "living conditions" and what a "mess" we are etc.

We're a city of 700K operating with one hospital, and a huge shortage of family GPs. MANY rely solely on packed clinics.

We declared a health emergency in January. We had exhausted Health Care workers long before any COVID came.

And we COULD have had another hospital

If thousands of you wouldnt have voted Liberal out of fear two years ago because you "couldn't vote NDP".

Brampton has a huge manufacturing and transportation sector that was never really furloughed because we had so many essential workers in close quarters.

Then there's how

ridiculously over-policed this community is and the documented harm our schools are already causing Black communities. All of that piled on.

BlPOC communities mean employment for so many white educators who live in overwhelmingly white places.

But now our schools are suddenly

"Hot spots" and I'm sitting here actually wondering how our numbers (and deaths!) aren't higher given the amount of crap that gets thrown specifically at Brown and Black people in this city - from white people, from governments who just won't listen.

I'm scared and high risk

not willing to die for this, but I'm also not letting people marginalize this even more than so many already do.

Our numbers are high. They keep going down and spiking.

But we're doing pretty ok considering the garbage hand that white supremacy deals us on a regular basis.
