There is a reason why these 4 grifting anonymous sources’ story was published in The Atlantic. They no doubt tried to run the story with NYT, CNN, MSNBC. But they found a vessel in Jeffrey Goldberg. Much like Christopher Steele did with BuzzFeed.

Because at least 2-4 of those anon sources had shopped the story around to other news orgs, that’s why they were so quick to say “we have confirmed it.” Again like the hoax dossier.

Now that we’ve got several news organizations confirming the story with the same sources the Atlantic used, there is the signal to the rest of the media that it must be true. The news silo echo chamber is now primmed.

A no-credible sources story is now *fact* because deranged leftists want it to be true and journalists throw out skepticism because volume equals quality in their uncritical thinking brains.

On the record denials by people using their own name and reputations are to be ignored in favor of the original anonymous grifters. To combat this the journalist will ask sources with a smidge more credibility if “this is something that he could or might say.“

To combat the fact that their original sources were too cowardly to go on the record for fear of their grift being discovered, news orgs will gather on the record opinions of the media environment they have created.

They also will now start adding out of context, though slightly more credible, details to try and buttress their pile of disinformation. In this case, this misinterpretation is a rehash from a while ago.

When this news cycle ends the 4 anon (Qanon bad, 4anon good) sources will still have ZERO credibility; hoards of poorly educated news consumers will have a new hoax they think is true. It will join Russian collusion, koi fish, drinking bleach, and fine people as hoaxes.
