Sad enough, some of our elders do no better. During a recent interview with a BBC Hausa reporter, Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle offered to 'gift' him two ladies. It could be a joke, but I didn't find it funny.
The above cases are less disturbing compared to what has been happening these days. Some men in Kano divorced, others deserted, their wives and children. They blamed coronavirus-induced poverty for their cold-hearted action. I heard of about 3 to 4 cases this week on the radio.
Sure, there are many more unreported ones. This inhumanity needs to stop.

The best way to treat a woman, to me, is to recall that you were born by one. Also, you are likely to have one or more as sisters, daughters, nieces, etc. Would you like anyone to treat them the same way?
"No", huh? So, why then do you treat her like a commodity, child-making machine or pleasure-giving device?

Please, stop and ponder for a moment. To reconstruct a famous dictum: do unto others as you would have them do unto you and your loved ones.
