Sometimes I use more words to try to tune the precision of what I’m saying as I say it. It would be better to use the right words.
Sloppy wording can result in people agreeing with the gist of what you’re saying but never being able to commit to your actual words. I see it a lot on Twitter. It seems like some people are habitually sloppy with their wording and others have learned not to be.
Big obstacle for me: how to make statements that aren’t meant to be all-encompassing or about which I am not certain. How do you learn to appropriately qualify assertions you make in your everyday communications such as on Twitter?
