Genuine question - is it possible for people to get training or experience in "Intelligence" work without joining the Military or Police first?

Are all people doing corporate "Intelligence" type work, ex uniformed services?

So, doing a bit of additional checking. There are lots of places you can go to learn HUMINT (mostly PMCs), there some, but less you can go to learn surveillance/counter surveillance & some which provide training - to Gov/Pol/Mil clients.

It seems there is a need and there are people who teach this, it's just that the private sector is happy to act as a Life Part 2 for ex-Gov/Pol/Mil intelligencers, rather than nurture their own.
It's a bit like Security 30 years ago.
