A thread

2021 I’ll be 30yrs in my current job, and if I wasn’t a single mother/need my wages I wouldn’t go back on Monday
We are so short staffed and demoralised. We’ve gone straight from Covid into clearing surgical waiting lists plus the emergency surgery as always
Agency staff can’t work in theatre, you need to know where everything is, etc. Our work is more complicated and slower due to Covid restrictions and guidelines
We had the most cases ever through our theatre last months. We have had so many patients who’s care has been slowed by and affected Lockdown
So as you laugh at pub menus, worry whether we should have daily or weekly Covid numbers, Golfgate, MEPs trying to avoid quarantining, whatever happened in Skerries
The health service is on its knees. And we haven’t even hit Flu season
Please wear your masks, limit contact, practise social distancing and be patient

Cos the health service and our staff/patients literally can’t with a second wave
It might be really tedious for the public but it has changed healthcare irrevocably, very hard working around the guidelines
