In today& #39;s t*rf wars we find child sex-change club Mermaids has partnered with pressure group Stop Funding Hate. They& #39;ve been trying to organise an advertisers& #39; boycott to influence the @spectator& #39;s gender skeptical coverage. https://twitter.com/afneil/status/1301855536049160192">https://twitter.com/afneil/st...
So what& #39;s kicked off today& #39;s rucus? The "offending" article called was by this one by the ever-insightful and forthright @suzanne_moore

Today& #39;s target for pressure was @coopuk. They were singled out because @coopukhealth had an advert placed in @spectator. It& #39;s for online NHS prescriptions with home delivery: the sort of advert that should be everywhere during a pandemic that kills vulnerable patients.
Mermaids supporters were also present as usual, and Lisa Fajita managed to get the Co-op& #39;s attention.
And in a now deleted tweet, Co-op told the Mermaids supporter it would stop putting ads in the "transphobic" Spectator.
Cue the Mermaids celebrations (this is Helen Islan, Mermaids& #39; former marketing officer... the non-trans woman who unsuccessfully took a transwoman to court for transphobia):

Just in case The Spectator hadn& #39;t got Mermaids& #39; point:

In steps @afneil, who doesn& #39;t take kindly to advertising boycotts intended to influence the Spectator& #39;s editorial stance. https://twitter.com/afneil/status/1301822074982404096">https://twitter.com/afneil/st...

Now Co-op& #39;s trending, and someone a bit more senior turns up to firefight: https://twitter.com/coopuk/status/1301887717274456065">https://twitter.com/coopuk/st...
Douglas Murray isn& #39;t impressed with the Co-op. https://twitter.com/DouglasKMurray/status/1301908759623667715">https://twitter.com/DouglasKM...
Co-op confirms that it has not stopped placing ads with @spectator. Hurrah!
Ooh. Mermaids are angry now. Helen& #39;s gone to the press to put the pressure back on the Co-op (and by extension the Spectator).
I suppose I should link to the article..: #5e7e13fa79a1">https://www.forbes.com/sites/jamiewareham/2020/09/04/co-op-no-plans-to-stop-advertising-in-spectator-amid-hostile-transgender-coverage/ #5e7e13fa79a1">https://www.forbes.com/sites/jam...
More Mermaids supporters condemning the Co-op (reminder... for advertising home delivery of NHS prescriptions!)
