stray kids’ storyline theory, a thread 🌙
this thread explains how Stray kids’ plot is centered on their own name, being either stray or a kid, everyone begins as a kid and then they enter their 20’s and they become stray, thrown into a dimension they know nothing about, a dimensional metaphor about entering adulthood
Chan always seems to know more and want the others to join him walking through this door, he is also the oldest, he wants the members to enter his dimension (the adult world)
In Miroh we see a world of politics and corruption, a world of adults, while Jeongin, the only 19 year old, isn’t in the initial rally.
Also Skz want to fight this corruption with plastic guns which could point out to them not wanting/not knowing how to leave this kid side yet
Also while Chan’s shot has the members dancing with him in the background, Jeongin has masked anonymous men, because he is alone after all, he is the only “kid”
In the 19 mv there is a birthday party and the song is about becoming 20 therefore an adult, jeongin didn’t have a shot in the end because he wasn’t 20 yet but maybe that’s the point, he’s still 19, a kid
In yellow wood/ side effects, the 00’s are the ones turning 20,
Hyunjin is the oldest and he definitely seems to notice something different, also how he fought Seungmin, the youngest of the 00’s, maybe Seungmin noticed something off about Hyunjin, Hyunjin didnt want to grow up
There always seems to be two dimensions and two roads, Yellow Wood came out in june 2019, right in the middle of the year, they are halfway through their “turning adult” year, they have to choose to stay kids and go back or enter adulthood and move foward
Hyunjin doesn’t want to become older because he feels like its a trap and Seungmin pushes him to it because he doesn’t realise
Also something curious is how chan and woojin (the two oldest) stood in hyunjin’s side and jisung and jeongin (maknae line) held Seungmin with Changbin coming in the middle
The choreo in this part is also seungmin running away and in the beginning we see him being held down while he tries to reach smth, with the youngest in the front and the oldest in the back
Also in District 9 we see Chan giving out messages to the members, Hyunjin seems suspicious about Chan, he knows Chan wants them to join the dimension and that something is up with that world
But just how Chan entered the dimension through the “light” Hyunjin ends up losing to this dimension too and failing to make the other realise
District 9, with the bus, the dress the same and the “brainwash” could reference to our child years in school. Being an adult always feels like a dream because we’re “free” and independent but it’s actually a trap.
Felix and the SeungSung are about to enter this dimension, Hyunjin tries to save them but once Chan turned the key (clé) they had no choice but to join the dimension like he did back in the Hellevator/District 9 era (which is represented in the elevator)
Jeongin in the end of Levanter seems uneasy about entering the door Chan is holding open, Levanter came out in december 2019, Jeongin turned 20 in 2020, only weeks after, but he doesn’t seem to want to join the others in this adult world
Hyunjin still seems to know something and want to save the members, like “don’t grow up it’s a trap” and he kept running after them, but in Astronaut, in the end of 2020, he ends up losing and just entering the door
We also see that in Top, while the members seem to be trapped in a different dimension and just running around, Jeongin just sits alone and cries because in the end he is alone and doesn’t want to go with them
In God’s Menu we have the theme of the birthday party back, Seungmin is having a birthday party alone which could point back to the fact he was the last one to joining this dimension before Jeongin
Notice how when they’re all happy together they are all dressed in white and there’s always images of the sky in the beginning/end, like astronaut and blueprint
I don’t think the members are d worded, they are just in another dimension, they’re adults now, while jeongin is playing with his friends in his imagination, like we see hyunjin’s wings like he is a guardian angel that managed to save them or minho had opened his eyes
Which brings us to EX, maybe this song is Jeongin realising he is alone and his friends left him, in the beginning he is jumping happily in the middle of the group, between the one that tried to save them all and the oldest that kept pushing them to enter this dimension
He realises his friends are no longer kids, while there is a birthday party, for him turning 20, no one is present, Jeongin is the only one that gets to eat cake and he no longer sees his friends but like he has all this time because he is 20 now, he’s an adult
Everything in the video seems childish, even the way the ghosts are made like we used to when we were kids in halloween parties, to the trampolines, to the wood train in the beginning, but it also seems sad because Jeongin has no option now, he is 20
While I Am was about the hyung line (mostly Chan) entering this dimension, Clé was about the 00’s and Hyunjin trying to save them.
Maybe this era will be about Jeongin’s ending, that’s why it’s called IN LIFE!
Maybe now they will go back as adults to question and fight the system as adults.
Hyunjin always wanted to fight this and maybe he managed to.
I definitely don’t think this is the whole story, there is way more to it, but maybe this could be part of the plot and it’s interesting how it connects to their name!
Just want to add Jeongin is the only one wearing a birthday hat in EX so it could be really about him joining the dimension too through his birthday!
Thank you for pointing it out!! https://twitter.com/hwngboki/status/1301932856822894592
They start their debut with morse code “sos stay sos” they could be them telling us to stay and not letting ourselves get brainwashed by society
“You make Stray Kids stay” we make skz want to stay in their dimension & fight the system that tries to keep them from being themselves
Skz always are themselves and don’t really fall into criticism to become something they don’t want to be, that’s their message
Their videos compliment that, they show us that it can be hard to not fall into society’s hands while growing up, but we should always be ourselves
also i believe minho wants to leave the dimension too but doesnt have the courage to speak up, thats why hyunjin wants to connect to him with the broken glass in TOP and also why him, hyunjin and jeongin have the scars, they are the ones that want to “fight” the rules
i’m still unsure about chan’s pov, but i believe that now he got jeongin as well they’re gonna fight the d9 system in in life and that was his plan all along, even tho it looks like he wanted to trap the members, he just wanted them to join him and create a bigger stronger voice
this is neverending, but everytime i reply to someone i get a new hint, like: https://twitter.com/bubskiz/status/1302014028592578565
